China-Australia Centre for Sustainable Urban Development

The China Australia Centre for Sustainable Urban Development (CACSUD) is a collaborative interdisciplinary research partnership between the University of South Australia and Tianjin University in China, and the host of Unmaking Waste 2018.

The Centre’s mission is to identify and develop innovative strategies and technologies for sustainable urban development in the Asia-Pacific region. The Centre’s research priorities are centred on:

  • Low-Carbon design, development, construction & implementation
  • Pollution control & waste reduction
  • Developing & implementing the Circular Economy

The Centre’s goal is to create more sustainable urban environments, and to facilitate sustainable growth while minimising its negative impacts on the environment. We nurture a collaborative research culture of innovation in which researchers and graduate students can thrive, and work together to create more sustainable societies.
